Kroger donates 12,000 bottles of water to Ocean of Soul

The record high temperatures in Texas during this summer have left many parched and in need of constant hydration. Members of the Texas Southern University Ocean of Soul Marching Band are no different. As members rehearse their musical parts and get ready to high step onto the field for their first performance of the year at the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands, a gift of water from the Kroger Company is a major donation that is right on time.

“We are grateful for this support from the Kroger Company,” said Ocean of Soul director Brian Simmons. “Our members come to band camp knowing it’s going to be hot, but this summer has been different. Kroger’s gift will help ensure everyone on the field stays hydrated as they prepare for the kickoff to the season and represent the University around the country.”

The Kroger Company is the United States' largest supermarket operator by revenue and fifth-largest general retailer.

Kroger is committed to being present in the communities we serve and Feeding the Human Spirit,” said Jourdan B. Scruggs. “Keeping the students hydrated throughout this upcoming marching season is very important to their success and we are excited to donate 12,000 bottles of Kroger branded water to the Ocean of Soul Marching Band.”
