In the latest edition of InsideTSU: It’s that time of year once again, we welcome new and returning students to their homes away from home; freshman class tops more than 1,300 this fall; and students return to campus and engage in a host of activities during New Student Week. Read about the National Battle of the Bands competition where the acclaimed Ocean of Soul will vie for the top prize this weekend in Houston. Details for 2023 TSU Homecoming events are posted – make your plans early and mark your calendars to join in on the annual festivities. It was a solemn remembrance and celebration of life, an alumnus and the contributions of a homegrown humanitarian during the unveiling of an Official Texas Historical Marker for George Thomas “Mickey” Leland on campus.
