Texas Southern University will consolidate its Office of Student Financial Assistance with the launch of a new Financial Aid Welcome Center this Fall. Housed in the West Parking Garage in a newly renovated first-floor office space, the center will allow students to receive individual and personal assistance through the complete financial aid process in a welcoming open space concept.
The center will feature an automated check-in system that will allow students to check-in, be seated or leave, and receive a text message alerting them when their turn is near. Four dedicated Customer Care Representatives will be there to assist with questions on all parts of the financial aid process. Should administrative support be required, the Associate Director of Customer Care will be there to assist with the process as well.
A small group meeting room to accommodate college work-study orientations, financial literacy programs and exit loan counseling sessions will be available. Private consultation rooms will allow students to discuss high personal and confidential information in a safe environment.
In addition, a college work-study coordinator will be within the facility to assist students with the on-boarding process and questions during the academic year as well as the Default Prevention team ready to help students with credit management, financial planning and repayment options.
