Students Lead KTSU-FM Open House

An excited team of students, alumni, employees and community representatives all gathered for an Open House on Saturday at the University’s Radio Station KTSU-FM, 90.9. The open house was a meet and greet to welcome the recently hired general manager of KTSU, Mr. Ernest Walker. Walker, who is well known in the city and across the country has over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and is a graduate of Houston’s Jack Yates High School.

A host of community leaders, colleagues and friends of Mr. Walker were in attendance. A large group of TSU students, majoring in radio and television and mass communication were on hand to greet the guest and to lead tours of the station, the recording studios and news rooms.

To jump start KTSU’s membership campaign, individuals were encouraged to sign up early to become members of the station. The official membership campaign starts April 22 and runs through May 1, 2016. For information about becoming a member, call 713-313-7591.

Breakfast was provided by the Breakfast Klub, Marcus Davis, a TSU Alumnus is President and Owner.
