TSU observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Several Texas Southern University groups participated in the annual campaign designed to increase awareness of the disease. Many were dressed in pink, a color associated with battle against breast cancer. Students gathered in front of the Student Center October 5 for a ceremonial pink balloon release to remember individuals who have lost their battle with the disease. Recreation Center staff held a Pink-Out for Breast Cancer Awareness event for students on October 6. College of Education faculty and staff ‘turned up the pink’ on October 11 in support of breast cancer awareness. The Human Resources department has invited Covia Health to campus for an educational seminar on October 19 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. in Gray Hall, room 200.
